We love salmon bellies and purchase them regularly. We had really high expectations on this order, but what we received wasn't anything like what we usually purchase! The cuts were all fat and bones - and teeny tiny annoying ones. My kids did not have a good time and swallowed some of the bones because they were not expecting any bones at all.

The bellies were great, fresh, but to enjoy them the way i want to there needs to be a bit more 100% flesh added to the trim. Though these are excellent, they were noting more that fish trim.

Bellies and collars are the best (fattiest) parts of the fish. I don't love cooked salmon but will happily eat a broiled belly or collar any time. This is so good broiled with a sprinkling of salt. I eat it over rice with some sauteed vegetables.

I used the salmon bellies for poke like they recommended in the description and it tasted great! I got two pounds and there was enough pink meat for 4 bowls. Took a while to cut them and separate the pink meat from the skin and fat, next time I think I will try roasting this cut and using their fillets for poke/sushi. Despite the extra work it took to prepare poke it was definitely worth it, it was very fresh, buttery smooth and delicious! I'd highly recommend :)
