This white wine vinegar from Martin-Pouret evokes a the rich history of vinegar making in the city of Orleans. Located along the Loire river, Orleans had a long-standing history of vinegar making. Merchant ships bound for Paris would offload any wines that had gone bad, which would be mixed with unpasteurized vinegar and aged, resulting in some of the finest vinegars in the region. Once filled with over 300 vinegar makers and producing nearly 80% of the vinegar in France, Martin-Pouret is the producer in Orleans who is continuing to uphold the traditional Orleans process.
